Re-organized SHG group
A women’s SHG group of 35 women was formed in the year 2005 in the village of Bhaluchunwa. In Which they used to save and also used to do Annakosh.
In the year 2016, women collected ₹ 30000 and 15 quintals of rice and 10 kg of sugar in the village fund. And it was given to the villagers to keep and it was decided that all the goods would be returned to the women in time(when it is needed). Once there was a wedding program at the house of a member (woman) of the group, the women of the group asked for goods from the villagers but the villagers refused to say that we do not know and will not give any amount and grain. Then the women stopped saving and their group gradually disintegrated.
After a few years, when Ekta Mahila Manch activist Kajal ji started conducting rural meetings in the village and addressed the best use of Bachat Kosh and Anajkosh also instructed how to operate the savings fund and grain fund and use it in times of distress. The group is formed again. Now the group has opened its bank account and started a savings fund and grain funds.
People are now learning to get out of the constant struggles and whenever there is a meeting in the village, all the group members participate and have started filling out applications in the meetings of the Gram Sabha.
The Ekta Mahila Manch program has given new energy and strength of unity to the group by rebuilding the group.
